Cottage Cheese - Product Comparison
I’m not sure how many people actually eat cottage cheese regularly BUT it’s actually super versatile, can be used sweet or savoury, and is relatively high in protein - I personally use it occasionally to mix with fruit and honey when I couldn’t possibly eat any more greek yogurt, or on top of scrambled eggs.
Something I noticed a little while ago though is that pretty much all the brands commercially available are high in protein, and low in fat. What that means is you can probably avoid paying more for products listed as “High Protein”, because the standard version is going to be high in protein anyway!
This Brancourts “Protein + Cottage Cheese” is the perfect example. It’s almost double the price of the Woolworths brand and contains exactly 2.2 more grams of protein per serve…
Worth the added price? I think not.
Sometimes it pays to take a quick look at the nutrition information of a new product just to double check whatever health claim is being made and ensure you aren’t falling for some cheeky marketing tactics and can save a few dollars on a different product.
